SEO Performance

See whether SEO is actually growing, and how you stack up against competitors. Actionbook pulls rankings from Search Console and Bing, and competitors and backlinks from Ahrefs, then writes what changed, why, and what to do next.

What is the SEO performance dashboard?

The SEO performance dashboard is a weekly view built from Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, with Ahrefs as an option. It opens with what changed, why, and what to do, splits brand from non-brand traffic, tracks your share of voice against competitors, and shows the pages gaining and losing clicks. Actionbook reads each tool the way you see it, including reports that have no API, and updates the report on a schedule.

Who the SEO performance dashboard is for

Freelancers and small agencies

Clients don’t read 30-page PDFs. They want to know what changed and what you’re doing about it.

  • One link per client, updated every Monday
  • What changed, why, and what’s next at the top
  • Non-brand growth and share of voice, so the work isn’t mistaken for brand demand

In-house marketers

You report organic growth to leadership and need numbers they trust.

  • Clicks from Google and Bing next to your share of voice against competitors
  • Indexing and technical health kept week by week
  • Copilot citations and AI Overview impressions as AI search grows

Founders

You check Search Console yourself and want the short version.

  • The three fixes worth your time this week
  • Queries a small push could bring to page one
  • Requests like re-indexing only run after you confirm

How the SEO performance dashboard works

  1. Step 1: Add Actionbook and describe your dashboard

Install the Actionbook extension, then tell it where to get the data, like Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and Ahrefs, and what the dashboard should show.

  2. Step 2: Stay signed in to Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools

Actionbook reads them the way you see them, including reports that only exist in their own pages. Ahrefs is optional.

  3. Step 3: Refresh weekly and act on the to-dos

Each Monday the report updates and lists what to fix. Requests like re-indexing a page in Google or submitting it to Bing only run after you confirm them.

SEO performance dashboard FAQ

Why include Bing?

Bing sends its own search traffic, and its index feeds Copilot. Bing Webmaster Tools also lists your backlinks and Copilot citations, which Search Console doesn’t.

Do I need Ahrefs?

No. Bing Webmaster Tools covers backlinks and a site scan. Ahrefs adds share of voice against competitors, fuller backlink data with Domain Rating, its own Site Audit and the keyword gap.

Why not build this in Looker Studio?

Looker Studio reads the Search Console API, which leaves out the Page indexing and Generative AI reports, and it has no Bing connector of its own. Actionbook reads those from the pages you can already open.

Does it keep history?

Yes. Every run saves the numbers and the indexing snapshot, so you can compare weeks even after Search Console drops older data.

Can it request indexing for me?

Yes, after you confirm the list. Actionbook uses Request indexing in Search Console and URL Submission in Bing Webmaster Tools, the same buttons you would click yourself.

How often does it refresh?

Weekly suits most sites, since rankings move slowly. You can switch to daily or monthly at any time, and the 4-week view adds slower signals like the keyword gap.

Can I send it to clients?

Anyone with the link can view the dashboard. Only you can refresh or change it, and dashboards are kept out of search engines.
